Caroline is back at work and I’m off on another adventure. Today I’m returning to Songdo in search of a really popular café called Forest Outings. Once I got off the subway I had a 25-minute walk through town. I was not prepared for what I found. This café is three levels, all decorated for Christmas. The food and drink choices were overwhelming, but I decided on a salt bread sandwich, lemon scone, and hot green tangerine tea. All great choices!

On the way back I tried to enter the Incheon Metropolitan City Museum, but it was closed. Across from the museum I noticed a walking trail and thought, why not! I didn’t realize I would really be hiking, up stone stairways and very steep hills. It’s a good thing I’m sure-footed! I kept climbing until I was at the top of Mount Cheongnyangsan and reached a boat-shaped, wooden observatory. What absolutely gorgeous views! I would definitely recommend the climb (unless you have a fear of heights.)
I made it down without incident and started back. I asked a young man “subway?” And he pointed me in the right direction. Then he waited for me to make sure I went the right way. Before heading off he said “Songdo subway” and pointed me towards it for the third and final time. So thoughtful. Also, there are lights where the sidewalk meets street that turn green to tell you when to walk (in case you're looking down at your phone!)
